Does Elvis Duran Have A 'Defiance Disorder?' The Show Discusses

Governor Cuomo says his daughter has a defiance disorder, where if he tells her one thing, she'll do the opposite. Does Elvis Duran have that same disorder? "You are the queen of that, absolutely," says Straight Nate. The show discusses and gives clear examples of why he might...

Oppositional defiant disorder or ODD is by definition a childhood disorder that is defined by a pattern of hostile, disobedient, and defiant behaviors directed at adults or other authority figures. ODD is also characterized by children displaying angry and irritable moods, as well as argumentative and vindictive behaviors. Maybe Elvis doesn't have that exactly, but he can be defiant or as we diagnose as natural defiance syndrome. Here is what members of the show have to say about it:

Nate:

You are the queen of that, absolutely. That's why I don't tell you when I want to take a break sometimes because if I tell you 'I want you to take a break', you're not going to take a break because I want you to take a break. Even when you know he doesn't like something, if you tell him he doesn't like it he'll say, 'Well how do you know that! Maybe I do like it, maybe I changed my mind on that!'

Skeery:

I'm going to pull back the curtain for a second. If there has to be an agenda for the good of the show because something needs to get done and we know if we come right out with it and say 'Elvis we gotta do this, you gotta do this,' we know you're going to say no so we have to try and dance around it and say and kind of vote on our own and then have someone else say it and then you'll jump in on your own. It's kind of a strategy.

Danielle:

So back in the day I would book the guests ok? Elvis would agree he'd say 'yea yea book that guest.' It would come to the day of the booking and he would say, 'Who the hell booked this person?' And I would say 'You did!' And he would say 'No I didn't cancel them!' And I would say 'Elvis, they're coming today,' [Elvis] 'I don't care you need to cancel them.' We would fight about it. So what I would do is I would have to type up the day he booked it 'you said to book so and so,' and I would have him sign the paper and I would have to file it.'
