Let’s wrap up the Olympics with a Feel Goods- so if you were following coverage, you know about Tamyra Mensah-Stock.
Last week she became the first black woman to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling for America, and you couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She immediately throws up her hands in the shape of a heart after winning, and then could not stop crying, it was so beautiful.
Well, this win is a little extra meaningful. Because Tamyra lost her father a while back, and really watched her mom struggle afterwards.
And one of the few things that really bring her mom joy now, is cooking! She would schlub around this little stove top in her car and sell food to people. Pretty illegal, so Tamyra, is using her winnings to fulfill her mother’s dream and buy her a food truck!
It was a promise she made a long time ago, and it’s finally time! Her mom wants to call it “The Lady Bug,” and I just love the relationship they have so much, so congrats to them both!
