Percival and his partner have been trying to have a baby for 6 PAINFUL YEARS, and to no avail! I should mention…..Percival is a pelican.
He and his mate live in an Australian sanctuary called Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue, and would sit on egg after egg waiting for one to hatch, but they were unable to produce one that was fertile.
The rescue workers love Percival so much and weren’t able to bear his struggle any longer, so they decided to help out. Unbeknownst to the couple, they swapped a fertile egg from another abundantly fertile couple for one of Percival’s. And BOOM! Soon after, Percival was a proud papa.
They rescue workers say he pays attention to his (oddly ugly yet adorable at the same time) offspring with complete commitment, and I’m just happy he has his baby 6 years later.
