First of all, you need to know who Michael Solomonov is. He’s a hugely famous chef, author, and winner of multiple awards. INCLUDING the James Beard Award 4 TIMES! He also is the chef behind Zahav in Philly, one of the top ranked restaurants in the country. So yea, this guy is a big deal in the world of culinary excellence.
Now for the story…..
Philly listener Katy Frank is a nurse working with COVID patients at Penn Medicine, and her birthday just passed. She HAD plans to go to dinner with her husband at Michael Solomonov’s newest restaurant Laser Wolf, but you know. Quarantine.
Well, one of her best friends decided to contact Michael through Instagram and tell him about Katy and how important of an employee she is, and Michael decided to bring his culinary experience to her front door!
He showed up himself with matzah ball soup, horseradish beets, dry aged brisket, coffee cake, and a candle inside of a huge challah bread!
Katy said he took what would have been a very sad birthday and turned it into something she will never forget. So THANK YOU Chef Michael!
