This listener wants to remain anonymous, but we love what her job come up with in efforts to keep as many people employed as possible!
This listener is a registered dietitian at a ShopRite, where there are 7,000 associates throughout the stores her boss runs. Of course, when the pandemic hit, the operations of all those stores changed...
People can’t go in for a consultation or dietary demo right now, but instead of being put on furlough until this is all over, her supervisor created a call center for the associates still working, mainly run by the dietitians! It’s open from 6am-10pm, and they take non-stop calls from associates whom are anxious or nervous, who don’t have childcare, and who maybe just have a concern at work. As dietitians she said they are extremely inquisitive and compassionate by nature, and all they want to do is help people. So this is a GREAT temporary transition!
What a great idea “ShopRite supervisor,” and thank you for taking care of the people under your umbrella!
