Dr. Oz Explains Dog The Bounty Hunter's Current Mental Health

Dr. Oz is always a fun way to start our day. Want to know why your fart smells? He knows the answer. Want to know why you get a random pain in your side but then it magically disappears? He has an answer. It seems to be Dr. Oz has the answer for everything. Most recently though, he seems to be the confidant and person with the answers for Dog The Bounty Hunter. Back in June, Dog lost his wife Beth Chapman. "When she had an attack I didn't know anything to do but to say 'in Jesus' name' and hold her and when I said 'in Jesus' name' she said, 'Say it again, say it more.'" said Dog to Hawaii News Now

Recently, Dog was with Dr. Oz before he was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. Dr. Oz recalls how Beth's death played a role in Dog's current mental state saying, "She was his north star," Dr. Oz says on the Bounty Hunter's wife who passed, "She was the one who kept him on track." Dr. Oz continues saying,

He's loosing her, he's down in the dumps. I get a call from him about two weeks ago and Dog has signed that AMA [Against Medical Advice] from the hospital. Which brings up a couple issues... He's on the run, a fugitive of medicine. What happened was he had chest pain, it didn't get better. They dragged him off to the hospital, he goes to the hospital and he's scared by what they're going to try to do which is figure out why he might be dying. So he just leaves, he runs away.... He says he'll only go back if I go and take him. So I fly out to Denver we go and have a very deep discussion. The issue is not getting him to go to the hospital, the issue is finding out why he left in the first place, which is a mental health issue. He's down, he's sad.

Dr. Oz goes into more detail with Dog on the season premiere of his show today, September 30th.
