Reports are coming through that iconic designer Kate Spade was found dead Tuesday morning, June 5th. TMZ is reporting that she was found in her NYC apartment where she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CBS News, Kate reportedly left a note before hanging herself and was found by her housekeeper.
The mother-of-one, to daughter Frances Valentine (13), and wife to fellow designer Andy Spade, launched the famous Kate Spade New York brand in 1993. She sold the company in 2007 for an unknown price, likely topping $130 million dollars according to nytimes.com.
In 2016 Spade launched another fashion line, Frances Valentine, named after her daughter.
Kate Spade was 55-years-old.
