I met my favorite person ever and was on-air with my mom all in a week?!
On Tuesday, May 30, Niall Horan came in to do his first performance and interview on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show since going solo from One Direction.
Being a huge fan of One Direction, and Niall being my favorite member of the band, you could only imagine the excitement I felt when I found out he would be coming in. The day of, he came in, did a lil sound check and, when it came time, Niall performed 'This Town' and 'Slow Hands'. Being able to watch such an intimate performance from Niall with only the rest of the morning show crew was one of the most amazing experiences--I could have never in a million years seen this coming. If you told me that I would get to see him perform and meet him in such a professional setting when I was sitting in the third deck at MetLife or all the way to the side at MSG, I never would have believed you. He was one of the sweetest people I’ve had the chance to meet and he was excited to hear that we enjoyed his performance. I'm so grateful.
Exactly a week later, it was brought to my attention that my mother had texted into the morning show. My mom's texts had expressed her gratefulness to the show for hiring me and for all they've done. Seeing the texts, Elvis chose to call my mom and have her and myself on air together. We both got the chance to speak to the world about how amazing my experience has been. We even got the chance to settle the fact that my mom never let me dye my hair...until now!!! Elvis even opened the floor to my mom for everyone to hear the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever done...
