Katy Perry Has Emotional Breakdown During Live Therapy Session

Katy Perry invited fans to watch a very personal moment on YouTube this weekend.

"I have been in therapy for 5-years. It's changed my life," the 'Swish Swish' singer told fans. "What I'm trying to do is to be seen as Katheryn Hudson sometimes."

As a part of the release of her fifth studio album, Witness, the 32-year-old pop star broadcasted her week on her personal YouTube channel. The live stream video that has everyone talking is a therapy session with Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh.

Katy, who has been catching flak in the media due to mixed album reviews and her new look, opened up about the struggles of growing up with strict Christian parents, past suicidal thoughts and her issues with living under a media microscope.

She even shed some light on her new pixie haircut, telling the doctor, "I so badly want to be Katheryn Hudson, that I don't even want to look like Katy Perry anymore, sometimes. That is a little of why I cut my hair because I want to be my authentic self, 100%. It hurts when I don't feel like I can."

The tearful therapy session lasted for nearly an hour and gave viewers a much deeper look into the inner workings of her life.

Fans took to Twitter to praise Katy for bravely baring her soul. 👏 💪 ❤️
