Today we were joined by Paws Of War volunteer Bill! Bill has been volunteering with Paws Of War as well as on the application list to get a dog. Paws Of War which is a nonprofit organization was founded in 2014. Their mission is:
To train and place shelter & support dogs to serve and provide independence to our U.S. military Veterans that suffer from the emotional & physical effects of war. In turn, each Veteran can experience the therapeutic and unconditional love only a companion animal can bring. To provide animals rescue for our troops serving overseas.
War veteran Bill came on our show for what he thought was to just talk about the organization, however Robert the founder of Paws Of War and Kelli the dog handler were in the other room with Lana, a dog that Bill had been training with the organization. After surprising Bill with the dog, we told him that Lana was his dog now! Everyone was in tears.
