Pop superstar Justin Bieber had a mock brawl with NHL legend Jeremy Roenick during the Skate for LA Strong charity hockey game at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 23).
The singer and the former center dropped gloves and got into a tussle, pretending to trade blows before Bieber pulled Roenick's jersey over his head as the two smiled. Former NHL centers Derek Armstrong and Nate Thompson acted as if they were trying to separate the mock brawl.
“That’s Justin Bieber, somebody go help Justin,” said rapper Snoop Dogg, who was serving as an honorary coach for Team Black along with comedic actor Will Ferrell, during the scuffle.
Former NHL star PK Subban and actor Ben Hollingsworth also appeared to tussle during the charity game.
The event, which also featured stars such as Steve Carrell, Danny DeVito, Cobie Smulders, Hannah Stocking and Vince Vaughn, was put on by the Los Angeles Kings and the NHL to support relief efforts for the wildfires that ravaged the greater Los Angeles area last month.
“We’re looking to have a good time and show when we come together, good things happen,” Bieber said during the event via ESPN, while Roenick called the tournament "a lot of fun."
"This was an amazing celebration of hockey and first responders. It was a lot of fun, seeing everyone that showed up and some of the L.A. firefighters playing was a good feeling," Roenick added.
