Sophie Turner is breaking her silence following her divorce from Joe Jonas after four years of marriage and the mom-shaming she experienced shortly after that she called the "worst few days of my life."

In a new cover story with British Vogue, the Game of Thrones actress opened up about her split from her ex, who filed for divorce in September 2023, saying that "there were some days that I didn't know if I was going to make it." After news broke that the Jonas Brothers member filed for divorce, rumors circulated online about Turner partying while Jonas stayed with their two daughters, 4-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine, per Entertainment Tonight.

"Those were the worst few days of my life," she said, adding that had been "contracted to be on set" for her film Joan, which was filming abroad while her ex and their children were in America.

"It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mum guilt is so real," she said. "I just kept having to say to myself, 'None of this is true. You are a good mum and you've never been a partier.'"

The Dark Phoenix star recalled the "shocking" headlines she saw that didn't accurately tell her "story," per E! News.

"I mean, it's unfathomable the amount of people that will just makes s--- up and put it up based on a picture," she said in the cover story. "A picture might tell a thousand words, but it's not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn't written, hadn't produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I'm still in shock."

Fortunately for Turner, not everyone bought into the narrative which she doesn't think would have happened even just a few years ago.

"If something like this had happened to me 10 years ago I don't think I would have had the same support," she said. "I just feel very lucky to be alive in a time when people are open-minded. Thank f--- for Gen Z."

Despite the complicated split, Turner hopes they can get to a point in the future where she and Jonas as well as his family can all be together to support their daughters.

"My dream is to have a huge Christmas where my daughters can have their dad there, Joe's whole side of the family, their grandparents," she said. "I don't care about the politics, I just want the girls to feel loved and have everyone show up for them."

She added, "I think we're doing the best we can. I'm confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that's all that I could ask for."
