Happy birthday, Willie Nelson!
The country music legend is celebrating his 89th birthday on Friday (April 29). Nelson previously shared his best advice for staying youthful: “You stay healthy, physically, mentally, spiritually. …Think positive. A negative thought will release poison in your bloodstream and give you cancer and kill your a**. So, you know, be careful and think positive thoughts all of the time, and don't let all of the negativity around you bring you down.”
Fittingly, the same day as his birthday, Nelson releasing his latest studio album, A Beautiful Time. The project “shows off just how prolific he continues to be as the album includes some of his finest songwriting and performances in years,” Nelson’s website reads. the 14-track project includes compositions by Nelson and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon, as well as songs from Chris Stapleton and Rodney Crowell and others. It also includes “a couple of plum covers by Leonard Cohen (“Tower Of Song”) and The Beatles (“With A Little Help From My Friends”) given expert interpretation by Willie.”
