Rihanna was photographed in Los Angeles with a black eye and bruises on her face.
According to TMZ, who published the pictures Saturday (September 5), the “Work” singer suffered some painful-looking injuries from an electric scooter accident earlier this week. The superstar kept a low profile as paps snapped her pulling up, passenger-side, in a Cadillac Escalade to Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California, where she waited curbside for staffers to bring out her food. It wasn’t until she removed her sunglasses that photogs got a better look at the shiner and her visibly swollen face. Per what the singer’s rep told the outlet, the 32-year-old pop star was riding on an e-scooter a few days ago when she crashed “after the scooter flipped over, smacking her in the face and forehead.”
In a health update given to Entertainment Tonight, the “Diamonds” star’s rep said, "Rihanna is completely fine now but flipped over on an electric scooter last week and bruised her forehead and face. Luckily there were no major injuries and she is healing quickly."
Albeit not what it seems, the painful pics immediately bring to mind the infamous pics of Rihanna’s injuries from her 2009 domestic violence incident with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Despite the traumatic incident, the “Disturbia” songbird recently admitted she still loves the “Fine China” crooner to this day.
Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to get banged up in an electric scooter accident this year. Simon Cowell endured a similar incident last month when he fell off an electric trail bike at home, breaking his back in three places.
