T-Pain & Chris Brown Team Up on New Song 'Wake Up Dead'

T-Pain and Chris Brown have joined forces once again for a new bop called "Wake Up Dead."

In "Wake Up Dead," T-Pain and Brown talk about that special someone that they just can't live without. In the chorus, they sing, "I don't wanna wake up dead, ooh-ooh/ If I ain't got you, then I'm already gone/ Baby, don't leave me alone/ 'Cause I don't wanna wake up dead, ooh-ooh/ I'ma take 23 shots of Patrón/ Just gonna keep comin' back home/ I don't wanna wake up."

The meaning behind "Wake Up Dead" is especially significant for T-Pain, because his wife Amber helped him write the song, and they've been married for 17 years. In an Instagram post earlier this week teasing the track, the singer wrote, "@panpan2211helped me write this, so this one super special to me." And in echoing her husband, Amber wrote on her own Instagram, "I got to help my hubby writing this one. so much fun."

And, if you're thinking the phrase "Wake Up Dead" sounds familiar, then you might remember it from 2003's Scary Movie 3 in the scene where the film's character CJ (played by Kevin Hart) and Mahalik (played by Anthony Anderson) are debating whether or not the expression makes sense. In promoting the song, Brown posted the funny scene, which also features Anna Faris, to his Instagram.

"Wake Up Dead" follows several collaborations between T-Pain and Chris Brown, including "Kiss Kiss," "Best Love Song, "Freeze" and "Classic You."
