Rachel McAdams Is Down To Play Regina George Again In 'Mean Girls' Sequel

Rachel McAdams is down to make a Mean Girls sequel happen.

During a recent livestream for Canada's "Heroes of Health: COVID-19," McAdams, 41, answered a question about reprising her iconic role as Regina George in the 2004 teen classic. "It would be fun to play Regina George later in her life and see where life took her," she told one inquisitive fan.

"Let's hope Mean Girls has helped girls be nicer to each other, and not the other way around,” she said elsewhere in the chat. "It's really bizarre. I feel so lucky to be a part of something that’s stuck around even a little bit. That’s never something I imagined happening in life."

It’s not the first time that McAdams has endorsed a sequel to the hit movie. In 2016, the actress shared her thoughts about the follow-up, saying, "We got to have a reunion at a photoshoot a couple of years ago and it wasn't enough," before admitting that she envisions Regina as a mom who "had a few babies who are plotting your demise in the womb."

McAdams isn't the only one from the cast that wants a sequel. Lindsay Lohan is also game for a new film. "I wanted to come back with a Mean Girls 2 with the same cast, work with Tina Fey, and the whole crew again," the star admitted on Lights Out With David Spade on April 14. "That was really what I wanted, I was excited to do that. But that's all in their hands, really."
