Britney Spears To Fight For Her Kids In Family Court Next Year

Britney Spears is doing whatever it takes to spend more time with her children.

According to Us Weekly, the “Slumber Party” singer is reportedly going to court next year with hopes of receiving more time with her two sons, 14-year-old Preston and 13-year-old Jayden, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. This all comes amid Spears’ past conservatorship drama with her father, Jamie Spears, and an “altered custody agreement” with Federline.

“Britney’s goal in the new year is to go to family court and petition the judge for increased custody time with the boys,” a source told Us Weekly. “She will have the boys on Christmas Eve, and they will go to their dad’s at some point on Christmas Day.”

Since the exes divorced in 2007, Spears and Federline have been on a 50-50 joint custody agreement that allowed her three consecutive days with her boys before having to return them back to their father.

As Us revealed, that all changed in September when a judge ruled the pop star would get 30 percent of unsupervised custodial rights, an agreement that was officially set in stone documents filed back in August. Per the outlet, the 70-30 arrangement was onset by the alleged physical altercation Preston had with his grandfather, which urged Federline to seek an emergency restraining order against Jamie.

“The relationship between Jamie and Britney has completely fallen apart,” an insider told Us of the incident at the time. “Britney remains very angry at Jamie because his actions with her kids resulted in losing custody time with the kids.”

Additionally, a hearing for Spears’ conservator status has been set for January 22.
