Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has officially wrapped her time on the Jersey Shore.
As per the Friday (December 6) episode of her podcast, It's Happening with Snooki and Joey, the reality star, 32, said that she has decided to leave her wild Shore days behind her. "There's reasons why I came to this decision... It's definitely a hard decision," she told listeners, admitting that she was "definitely sure" about her exit. "I love you so much and don't hate me for my decision, but I have to do what's best for me at the moment. And I am retiring from Jersey Shore. I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for season four if there is one."
As you all know, Snooki's role as a mother to three children, Lorenzo, 7, Giovanna, 5, and Angelo, 6 months, with her husband, Jionni LaValle, has been the most important aspect of her life and it seems as it's just not feasible to fulfill her duties and commit to the long-running MTV show anymore.
"I just can’t do it anymore. Like, literally, leaving my kids to film it is really, really hard on me... I try and quit every single day. The poor producers are like, 'Dude, are you going to quit this time?'" she explained. "I quit every single time we film because I just hate being away from the kids. I don’t like partying, like, three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I want to be home with the kids. I don't mind a here or there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard for me to leave the kids and film the show. That's one reason."
Another reason that Snooki has made the decision is because she's "not comfortable filming that show anymore with the direction it's going," confessing there's been lots of drama as of late. "When I leave my kids and I film the show, I want to have a good time and I'm putting myself out there and I just want to come off as a good person. And lately on the show it's been very drama," she continued. "Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family and making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing and just knowing that it’s all in good fun. And lately, it's just like everything is so serious."
"And when it comes to our show, it’s not about team this, team that and then fans are against one another when it comes to a cast member. That's just not how the show works and that's how it's becoming," she continued. "So for me, I don’t want that. And I’m not leaving my kids days on end to film this show when that’s the result of it. I just don’t like the turnout of it and I don’t like the person I’m portrayed as. This is getting a little too much."
Snooki made it a point to show love to her castmates and the network, adding that she is open to more reality television work, but her role on the Shore has wrapped.
