Janet Jackson & Rihanna Share A Beautiful Moment At British Fashion Awards

As one might expect, it was pure magic when Rihanna and Janet Jackson came together at the 2019 British Fashion Awards on Monday (December 2).

As luck would have it — well, as show producers perfectly planned — Miss Jackson presented Rih Rih with the Urban Luxe award for her brand Fenty's contributions to sportswear, and the moment was truly iconic.

“You’re loved for your style, you’re respected as an artist, entrepreneur and for the first black woman to start a brand with LVMH,” Janet said on the mic, per Women's Wear Daily, before Rihanna took the stage in a seafoam green mini dress and taffeta coat.

The legendary entertainer continued her praise of Rihanna on Instagram, captioning a black-and-white photo of the two: "Congratulations 🖤 #FashionAwards."

As fans know, Rih Rih officially unveiled the first fashion designs of her very Fenty Maison in May. "This is a moment in history," Rihanna told the crowd at the brand's first pop-up shop in Paris, via Billboard. "It’s a big deal for me and my entire generation."

Rihanna's Fenty label marks the first time a woman has created an original brand at LVMH (Moët Hennessy, Louis Vuitton— the world’s largest luxury group) and the first time a woman of color has been at the top of an LVMH Maison (house). Rihanna's line is also the first new house created by the group since Christian Lacroix in 1987.

Fenty consists of ready-to-wear clothing, footwear, accessories, and eye-wear.
