Taylor SwiftΒ made history overΒ Michael JacksonΒ at the 2019 American Music Awards.
Beating out the King of Popβs record 24 honors, the βME!β musician took home six AMAs during Sunday's (November 24) annual awards show, which now makes her the most awarded artist in the fan-voted programβs history with 29 trophies.
Swift walked away with trophies for Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video (βYou Need to Calm Downβ), Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album (Lover), Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, and Artist of the Decade. With last nightβs earnings, the pop star also extended her record for the most Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock albums ever won at the AMAs.
βThis year has been a lot of good, a lot of really complicated, so behalf of my family and me, thank you so much for being there and caring,β the 29-year-old expressed after being presented with the Artist of the Decade honor by Carole King. βThis album really felt like a new beginning, and I also really love my record label, Universal and Republic. Monte Lipman, Lucian Grainge, thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make. As a songwriter, itβs so thrilling to me that I get to keep doing that.β
The βEnd Gameβ star also delivered a career-spanning medley of her greatest hits during the ceremony, including throwback classics like βLove Story,β βBlank Space,β βShake It Off,β βI Knew You Were Troubleβ and many more.
