It's almost time to say goodbye to the Rose family. Schitt's Creek will end after the upcoming sixth season. As if that wasn't sad enough, the trailer for the final season just dropped and, yes, it will definitely make you cry. It's time to break out the tissues and find out what's in store for Johnny, Moira, David and Alexis.
Schitt's Creek co-creator and star Dan Levy shared the first look at the final season on Twitter. While the trailer doesn't give much away about the plot lines for the upcoming season, it does set the tone for what is sure to be an emotional set of episodes. The clips shows the Rose family, as well as Stevie and Patrick, in black tie attire as "Love Like a Sunset Part II" by Phoenix plays. "Here we go, friends," Levy wrote in his tweet.
While Schitt's Creek is still loved by fans and critics alike, Levy still felt like it was time to bring it an end. "I think the audience, the fans of the show, have really come to rely on it as like a safe space in a dark time. And the thought of pushing that past its expiration date for the sake of just being able to do another season—I care too much about our viewers and about our characters to risk taking them farther than they need to be taken," Levy explained to E! News. "So, it was always planned that this was going to be the end. And I really had no interest in pushing that any further and potentially compromising a good thing."
Though it's sure to be hard to say goodbye to these characters, fans have a lot to look forward to in season six, including David and Patrick's wedding. Schitt's Creek returns one last time on January 7th.
