Taylor Swift takes bananas very seriously.
Swift made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (October 3), during which Jimmy Fallon caught the singer off-guard with questions about her recent Lasik eye surgery. Much to the singer's surprise, her mom, Andrea, gave the host some hilarious home footage of her daughter looping on what the "Archer" artist admitted were "some pretty hardcore pills."
“Your mom may or may not have videotaped you after surgery and she gave us the video!” Fallon revealed, before playing the recording.
The clip opens with the 29-year-old, with protective eyewear taped to her head, attempting to eat a banana — but clearly the wrong one — as she suddenly returns a look of disappointment, complaining to Andrea, "That wasn't the one I wanted!"
“Stop, you can’t cry! That’s not supposed to be what you’re doing!” her mother replies. “I tried to get this one,” Taylor responds through sobs as she picks up the banana that she originally wanted. “What do we do with this one now?” Andrea reassures her daughter that she'll eat what's left of the first banana, which makes the musician anxious because it "doesn't have a head."
Things only got wackier from there, as Swift, now in bed, struggles to stay awake while attempting to eat her snack. "Don’t fall asleep eating the banana!" her mother warns, before the video ends with a loopy Swift retorting, "I'm not asleep, my mind is alive!"
Despite the embarrassment, the "ME!" star quipped to Fallon, “She was kind enough to drive me there but cruel enough to film it and give it to you!”
