Adele Teases New Music In Birthday Post Amid Simon Konecki Separation

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards

Adele shed not a single tear on her birthday.

The singer-songwriter kissed her sorrows goodbye and said "Hello" to 31 last night (May 5), and celebrated the occasion accordingly with an inspiring Instagram post in which she vowed to treat herself with love and care.

"This is 31...thank f**king god. 30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all," the musician captioned a series of black-and-white photos from her b-day bash. "No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times. I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay."

The "Chasing Pavements" artist, who became newly single after separating from estranged husband Simon Konecki in mid-April, also promises "31 is going to be a big ol' year for myself," alluding to her breakup by expressing, "for the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once."

Adele and Konecki first went public with their relationship several months before welcoming their son, Angelo, in October 2012. She would reveal, years later, that she and the businessman were married in her Album of the Year acceptance speech at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

To close her post, Adele also seemed to drop hints that her new album — 30?! — will carry a vengeful sound, writing, "Bunch of f**king savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you. Chin up eh."

The English songstress' latest LP, 2015's 25, won the most awards with five trophies at the 2017 Grammys.
