MTV 'Road Rules' Star Dead At 43

Former MTV Road Rules star Brian Lacster has died at 43, as per a new report from TMZ, which was published on Thursday afternoon (April 5).

According to the outlet, Lancaster's family revealed he was found dead in his Pennsylvania home last Thursday. While they admitted he suffered from heart failure and had a history of arrhythmia, they don't believe the death was drug or alcohol related. As far as they know, no substances were found in his home. His family described the former TV star as "an outdoorsman and daredevil." He's survived by his fiancé, Sarah, and his parents, Dannis and Carol Lancaster.

Lancaster appeared on season 7 of the long-running reality competition when he was 23-years-old. Even though he didn't win the $43,000 grand prize, he competed in 13 different missions throughout the course of 15 episodes, which were shot in Mexico, Costa Rica, and the United States. Interestingly enough, he also had his Master's degree in elementary education. MTV has yet to comment on Lancaster's unexpected passing.

Lancaster's death is the second tragedy to hit the MTV reality family in less than a year. Fellow Road Rules star Danny Dias passed away inside of his Brooklyn home at 33 in June 2017 due to "complications of chronic substance abuse." "We are saddened by the news of Danny Dias' passing," an MTV spokesperson said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE at the time. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."
