Just days after treating fans to the track on Valentine's Day, Khalid and Normani of Fifth Harmony dropped the video for "Love Lies," the brooding mid-tempo cut about finding an unexpected lover, which also appears on the soundtrack to the highly-anticipated film, Love, Simon.
In the Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz-directed clip, which dropped on Friday (February 16), the steam kicks off right at the beginning with a mysterious text conversation between the two singers about meeting up at their "favorite room." Dressed in all white, Khalid patiently waits outside of a hotel, before Normani pulls up in a black car, heads into the hotel and rips off a trenchcoat once she's inside of her room. From there on, it's all about Normani's moves as she opens the curtain and offers him a sexy dance from up above. You gotta love a hotel room with view!
At time of press, the clip had helped propel the R&B jam to the No. 13 spot on iTunes overall singles chart. "Wowww Love Lies is already #13 on the iTunes charts. Thank you for all of the love on this record that means so much to me!" Normani wrote on Twitter.
"Love Lies" is the first song to be released from the Jack Antonoff-curated Love, Simon soundtrack. Expect additional tunes from the likes of Bleachers, The 1975, Troye Sivan and more in the coming weeks.
