'Wheel' Fans Think They Know Who's Replacing Pat Sajak & They're Not Happy

Pat Sajak has been hosting Wheel Of Fortune since 1981, so it shouldn't be too surprising that after over four decades with the game show, he won't be on it much longer. Even Sajak has faced the facts. In September, the 76-year-old reflected on the iconic show he hosts, stating, "Years go by fast. We're getting near the end. In most television shows by this time, you would have said, 'That's probably enough,' but this show will not die. It appears I may go before the show." He added, "It's been a long time. We're not going to do this for another 40 years. Years go by fast. We're getting near the end. It's been a long time. We're not gonna do this for another 40 years."

However, since he is such a big part of the show, who could possibly fill his shoes when he goes? Well some viewers think they know and they shared their thoughts on Reddit. The fans are pretty certain that Pat's daughter, Maggie Sajak, is being set up to take over for her father. Maggie currently serves as the show's social correspondent, and commenters think that is just one step away from the host position.

It wouldn't be Maggie's first time on the Wheel stage either - she filled in for Vanna White when Vanna hosted the show after Pat had to bow out due to an emergency surgery a few years ago.

Fans aren't thrilled with the 27-year-old Maggie as a potential successor. Comments included, "The whole Maggie Sajak thing annoys me to no end. I cringe whenever they show her and her made-up 'social correspondent' job," and, "Yup! Thought they could just slip her in. It would be great if someone else had the chance to prove themselves," and, "She’ll take over for Pat and that’s just the way the world goes. Rich people set up their young to have it made. You'll see it to your dying days," and, "Nepotism at its best!"

They might be a little early with their talk about a replacement though. While he admitted the end is near, Pat hasn't announced any timeline about his retirement. Meanwhile, Vanna White can't even fathom it, telling People this week, "I don't even want to think about that. I mean, we're a team. That's depressing. I don't even want to think about it. I can't imagine. Everybody relates Wheel of Fortune to Pat and Vanna. We're like Ken and Barbie, you know? We've been in everybody's homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters."
