This. Is. Appalling.
An NYC superintendent of a building on the lower east side just posted the most disgusting video of an apartment he and his cleaning crew are clearing out. Garbage covering the counters, a rotting mattress, and a dead cat were just a few of the treasures awaiting him inside the unit.
Martin Hernandez and his team wear protective suits and gas masks during this nauseating 10-minute video. As they clean the apartment, Hernandez notes the neighbors constant complaints, which ultimately got the tenant evicted.

Roches can be seen filling the walls amongst the filth creeping up the ceiling. "...[the tenant] was sleeping on all [the filth] and he thought nothing was wrong,” says Hernandez. His crew repeatedly expressed their disgust, stating that they have never seen anything like this.
The tenant has not been named, but it is mentioned that NYC allowed the man to stay living in these awful conditions for over a year.
