Katy Perry Scares the S*** Out Fans With 'Fake Head' Prank (VIDEO)

Katy Perry 'punked some bitches' at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City this past Saturday.

She teamed up with Vanity Fair's Derek for the Derek Does Stuff with a Friend to recreate her new single, "Bon Appetit," as an art installation. The single is off of her fifth studio album, Witness, due out June 9th.

The one-day-only exhibit was pawned off as a video-art installation by artist "Katheryn Hudson" aka Katy's birth name.

She positioned herself as an inanimate head placed up a platter of fruit on a picnic style table. Her body was hidden under the table.

Museum-goers were invited into the special exhibit and then suddenly Katy would come to life! People were at first startled before whispering to each other, "Is that Katy Perry?" At one point Katy joked that she's actually Miley Cyrus!

The video ends with dramatic hilarity as Derek covers Katy's 'head-platter' with a cake dome.
