The COVID Vaccine Is ‘Not Going To Make You Infertile’

Dr. Collins is director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Wednesday, June 2nd Dr. Collins went on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show to talk all about the COVID-19 Vaccine and debunked plenty of rumors we have heard about it.

Administered already to over 150 million people, the covid vaccine is all anyone is talking about right now. It is very important to get us all vaccinated especially for "young people even if you don’t think you’re vulnerable," Dr. Collins explains how there are "long hauler problems" and that can apply to "young people too."

Danielle Monaro asked a question that is stopping a lot of young women from getting the vaccine. She asks if the vaccine could affect infertility. "This is not going to make you infertile," Dr. Collins reassures her. There is no evidence that there is any correlation. He also explains that if you're pregnant it would actually be great to get the vaccine so you can pass the antibodies onto your baby. "If you're pregnant and get COVID it can be really bad," he says. But if you get the vaccine (after consulting with your doctor) you could pass the antibodies "through the placenta and in breast milk"

If you are looking to get your COVID vaccine today text 438829 with your zip code and you'll get a reply with a location and phone number of places that have vaccines in stock near you! You can also go to vaccine.gov.
