Kate Middleton & Prince William Secretly Adopted A New Puppy Last Year

Prince William and Kate Middleton secretly welcomed a new puppy to their family last year, according to a new report from The Mail on Sunday. Months before their 8-year-old cocker spaniel passed away, the Cambridge family adopted a second cocker spaniel. Both dogs were gifts from Kate's younger brother James Middleton.

“The new puppy is adorable and the whole family are besotted," a friend of the Cambridge family told the outlet. "They were devastated when Lupo passed away. It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy.”

Back in 2012, James' dog Ella had a litter of puppies. Lupo was one of Ella's pups. James kept one of the puppies, as well, and raised Lupo's sister, Luna. Over the summer, James announced on Instagram that Luna gave birth to her own litter of adorable cocker spaniel puppies. One of the six puppies was adopted by the Cambridge family.

According to the Mail on Sunday, William and Kate adopted the black cocker spaniel puppy that James' fiance AlizeeThevenet is holding in the above Instagram post. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis reportedly helped their mom and dad pick their new pup from the litter.
