Baby Sussex is finally here! A week after her reported due date, Meghan Markle welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world on Monday (May 6). While the Duchess of Sussex recovered from the delivery, an absolutely delighted Prince Harry gave an interview about his newborn son. The Duke of Sussex is a proud dad, to say the least.
"I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy," Prince Harry gushed. "A very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It was the most amazing experience I could have ever possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we're both absolutely thrilled."
Harry went on to thank the public for their support over the past nine months, as well as admitting they're "still thinking about names." Even though the "baby is a little bit overdue" Harry admits he and Meghan have yet to settle on a moniker for their baby boy. "That's the next bit," Harry said.
"Amazing. Absolutely incredible," Harry continued raving about his son's birth. "And as I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife. As every parent and father will say, your baby is absolutely amazing...but this little thing is absolutely to die for. I'm over the moon."
During the interview, the proud dad revealed Meghan, Harry, and Baby Sussex will make their debut as a family in "two days time." The happy family will likely sit for a quick interview and pose for photos on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Wednesday (May 8).
Buckingham Palace announced Meghan was in labor early on Monday and within the hour they revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed a baby boy. "We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz," the palace wrote in a statement on Instagram. "The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days."
