'X-Men: Multiple Man' In Development With James Franco As Jamie Madrox

Fox is adding another spinoff to its X-Men universe called A Multiple Man and it will star James Franco as cloning creature Jamie Madrox, as per a new report from Deadline

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg will be handling the script as Simon Kinberg produces the film. "The character is part of the X-Men universe, which Fox controls and continues to exploit with Kinberg at the center of all the movies," Deadline reported. "Multiple Man is Jamie Madrox, who, in the comics, conveyed his cloning powers at birth, when a second, identical version of him appeared after the doctor slapped the infant to get him to breathe." Jamie Madrox first appeared in Giant-Size Fantastic Four No. 4.

If you're itching for some more X-Men before the down the road unveiling of X-Men: A Multiple Man, get ready for The New Mutants, which hits theaters on April 13. X-Men: Dark Pheonix is set to open November 2.
